According to the latest leak, Apple is reportedly planning to outfit the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 models with a vertical camera setup, departing from the diagonal arrangement seen in the iPhone 13 series. The leaked image of a dummy unit also displays the speculated pill-shaped feature. Notably, both models boast a geometric design, with the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max appearing marginally larger than the base model.

The second leaked image reveals that all versions of the iPhone 16 series will feature an action button located on the left side of the device. This action button, initially introduced on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, replaces the traditional mute switch and offers users the flexibility to reprogram it for various tasks or shortcuts.

Furthermore, the iPhone 16 series introduces a dedicated capture button, enabling users to swiftly take photos. Previous leaks hinted at this new button being situated on the right side of the phone, a detail further supported by a third image showcasing a mock-up unit with the button in the same position.

It’s important to keep in mind that Apple’s unveiling of the iPhone 16 smartphones is still several months away. The company is anticipated to announce updates for iOS 18 and macOS 15 during WWDC 2024 on June 10. Further insights into the upcoming smartphone series may gradually surface in the months leading up to its anticipated release by the end of 2024.
